IC&RC + You!

 

Requirements for IC&RC Credentials:

Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (ICADC)**

►Hold a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

►Live in California 51% of the time

►Complete 315 Hours of specific SUD education

►6,000 hours of documented work experience in SUD counseling

►Must already be certified with a Counselor certification board recognized by Department of Health Care Services. (If you are licensed by the state and hold a MA degree, please see the requirements for the ICAADC below.)

►Take IC&RC Exam

 

**The CADC II is an NCCA accredited credential. It is NCCA approved through 4/30/2017 and therefore there is no "grand-parenting or grandfathering" permitted.

Internationally Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor (ICAADC)*

►Hold a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

►Live in California 51% of the time

►Must Hold an MA Degree with 180 hours of SUD/Behavioral Health specific education

►2,700 hours of work experience in SUD counseling as a supervisor

►Take IC&RC Exam

*Must be currently Licensed by a state licensing board in a related field for eg. CA BBS. Cannot have any criminal convictions within the last 5 years.

Internationally Certified Clinical Supervisor (ICCS)

►Hold a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

►Live in California 51% of the time

►40 Hours didactic training in clinical supervision

►10,000 hours of experience with two years clinical supervisory experience, and 200 hours of face to face clinical supervision

►Take IC&RC Exam

Internationally Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (ICCJP)

►Hold a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

►Live in California 51% of the time

►Must Complete Criminal Justice Systems and Criminal Thinking/Behavior in a formal classroom setting in addition to the required education listed below:

►Must have High School Diploma/GED

►BA/BS or IC&RC Certified Reciprocal AODA Counselor 4,000 hours documented work experience in direct services in criminal justice/addictions services and obtained over the past 10 years, or

►MA/MS or IC&RC Certified Supervisor AODA Counselor 2,000 hours documented work experience in direct services in criminal justice/addictions services and obtained over the past 10 years.

Internationally Certified Prevention Specialist (ICPS)

►Hold a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

►Live in California 51% of the time

►2,000 hours of experience in prevention specific counseling

►100 hours prevention specific training

Internationally Certified Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (ICCDP)

►Hold a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

►Live in California 51% of the time

►Must hold a BA Degree inclusive of  COD disorders

►6,000 hours of experience; (4,000 hours specific COD experience, 2,000 hours general SUD counseling experience)

►Take IC&RC Exam
